Pauline Fisher is a Quilt Appraiser certified by the American Quilters Society. She lives in North East, Pennsylvania. Her passion is quilt-making and quilt history. After teaching elementary school for twenty-five years, now she has retired to appraise quilts, teach quilt-making, and promote the appreciation of women’s work in quilts.

She learned to sew at an early age because her mother was a Home Economics teacher who provided a great variety of scraps and patient instruction. The Bicentennial started her quilting in 1976. Working at Quilt Discovery Days for the Northwestern Pennsylvania Quilt Documentation Project in 2000 started her on the road to becoming a Quilt Appraiser. She completed weeklong classes on fabric dating, quilt history, pattern identification, and quilt appraising offered by the American Quilters’ Society. She was tested and certified by AQS in April 2005.

She is also a member of PAAQT (Professional Association of Appraisers of Quilted Textiles), American Quilt Study Group, Museum of American Quilters Society, New England Quilt Museum, She is an active member of two guilds: North East Crazy Quilters, and the Westfield Quilt Guild.
